I'm glad somebody else apart from me remembered, I would've felt a bit like an anorak otherwise! On a more serious note, I think we can all agree that this last year (March 05-March 06) hasn’t been quite as successful as our first. For almost the whole year it’s been very difficult for both Will and I, the founders of the site, to access the forum which has severely limited our involvement. As a result there has been some serious stagnation and a lack of articles too. However we're still here thanks to a small contingent of posters who went above and beyond the cause of duty in their continued support of both site and forum. So, in true teary-eyed Oscar speech tradition, I would like to thank HStorm, Naselus, Modeski, Thanatos (wherever you are), Liquidus and everyone else who has been posting (however often you’ve popped in) for keeping things ticking over. I can’t speak for Will, but I’m sure he will share my sentiment particularly in thanking HStorm for his excellent work as the Global Mod, he’s had to run things essentially for months now and we appreciate his efforts. ;D With the mushy stuff out of the way, here’s to another great year ahead! Any ideas/suggestions of how we can celebrate this special occasion?

Remembering things I remember means you're not an anorak, eh? Well, I should say to that... oh damn, hang on, my bicycle clips have fallen off again. On a more serious note; happily - or rather, sadly - doing the Global Modding hasn't been especially taxing, precisely because there hasn't been much activity. Apart from keeping the news fader ticking over, it's not much of a task when the active members are so few and far between. Ways to celebrate? Hmm, lemme think about it.

Got it. I'll go out and get very, very drunk tonight, and record the whole sorry affair. Then we'll upload the video as 'Critique Birthday bash 2006', and HStorm can come get me from the police station.
Nothing says happy birthday like a tape of a deranged drunken hippy yelling "Boogie boogie boogie!!!!!!!!" at a policeman.

Not very special though is it? That's just a rehash of me securing your release last Easter. And at harvest festival. And on Guy Fawkes Night. And at Christmas. And at New Year. And on your birthday...

Well, it's like I said at the time. Nothing says "Merry Christmas", "Happy New Year", "Have a good Easter", "Have a nice Bonfire night", or "Oh God no, I can feel the subtle threads of time slipping away as I spiral unavoidably toward my own inevitable demise" like a deranged drunken hippy yelling "Boogie boogie boogie!!!!!!!!" at a policeman. Or urinating on a police van. Or being found with that sniper rifle outside John Prescott's house. Or, of course, drunk driving round the back streets of Soho at 150mph in a stolen Lamborghini Diablo while recieving oral sex from a beautiful fifteen-year-old Russian crack whore.
Well, it was my birthday. I'm not ashamed of it. I had as much right to be carrying that sniper rifle as the next man.

...And St. George's Day. And St. Leonard's Day. And Ash Wednesday. And Shrove Tuesday. And Midsummer's Day...

Take that back! I escaped by myself on Shrove Tuesday, you had nothing to do with it!
Anyway, it's also St. Patrick's day, and you know how much I value my Irish blood.

Oh yeah? And who do you think it was who sneaked that oxycetalene cutter into your cell on Shrove Tuesday anyway?
And if you value Irish blood so much, how come I always catch you drinking it after you've been on a binge in Liverpool?

Perhaps value was the wrong word. 'Savour'.
Anyway, it's too late now, I forgot to take a video camera.
