Again this is largely good stuff, but suffers from the familiar failing of getting a notch carried away in the second half. The first half is sensible, methodical and smoothly written, but towards the end it just gets a little over-strident. The use of terms such as "crisis" to describe the compensation culture is not really appropriate, but doubly considering that it gives the impression that the problem of nonsense claims is out of control, when statistics suggest that, in fact, these claims are few and far between and are continuing to decline.
On the other hand, the solution suggested is an intelligent one, although it probably wouldn't work in practise; it would just scare lawyers away from taking up genuine cases when they feel the chances of success are less than fifty-fifty, and we'd be back to square one.
It's a good article though. 8/10

Again, not to sure about the research for this piece, despite it's well-written style. Also, it's very hard to find fault with any article that condemns lawyers for being greedy loathsome bastards; this one's got a special place in my heart for that alone.
