Right, I've done my political compass, and my results were: Economic Left/Right: -6.62 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.36 Which is kind of like a more leftist Dalai Lama, apparently. Odd, since I've got some interesting free market ideas. Perhaps somewhere around the Dutch philosophy. Anyone else getting their results, please post 'em here and the admins will compile them and post them on the site, indicating where we all stand. 'The Critical Compass' is what we're calling it. If you don't wish your results to be published on the Critical Compass then either simply say where you were roughly (as Thanatos has) or state your stats and add that you don't want to be on it. The website, if you can't be bothered finding it elsewhere, is: www.politicalcompass.org[Edit By RMR: Added in explaination of what the results are for]

Kinda close to Gandhi, although I think even he's got a better dress sense than me.

I'm just like HStorm but slightly more radical.

I'm afraid I can only accurately plot the numbers on the 'Critical Compass'...

The first new years update will be next week (as we will have one new article to add then) and so if there are ANY more Political Compass results from people who wish to be on the Critical Compass, please post them in this topic by next Saturday if you could. Thanks!
(If you don't post them within the next week and want yours on the Compass, I will still put them on it but there will be a longer delay for me to put up the new version.)

Interesting to note how representatives of the north-eastern region (rough spectrum approximation: the right wing) of the political compass have been keeping their results so quiet for all these months.

Interestingly, I re-sat the Political Compass test today to see how consistent my views are, and whether they could be affected simply by mood; to be fair I can't for the life of me remember what mood I was in when I sat it the first time (it was three years ago after all), but I was startled to see how much more extreme my position to the south-west has become! My results three years ago were;-
Economic Left/Right: -5.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.74
They are now;-
Economic Left/Right: -6.00 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.31
It's not a giant leap, especially in economic terms, but it's still large enough to be startling, especially as I'd felt that, if they'd changed at all, my views had drifted slightly towards the centre. (Certainly I felt I was less cynical about conservative attitudes than I used to be. In fact, I'm sure I am, but now, with a less cluttered perspective, I find I'm only more sure about my liberal-socialist world view.)
I'm now south-west of the Dalai Lama on the compass! That takes some doing!
I recommend everyone does the compass test, even if they've done it before, as it's fascinating to learn if our attitudes have altered in ways we hadn't even noticed.

Just south of Gandhi....
Also, heading south at an alarming rate. Odd that I seem to have become more authoritarian, tho.

To be fair, I'd say -5 still won't exactly dump you in Stalin's class, you police-state-loving dirtbag, you.
