The BBC are currently taking suggestions for political moment of 2005 ( news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4514216.stm) and I thought that I would ask everyone on here for their own personal opinion. It's quite a difficult year to pick just one moment with a general election, a Tory leadership change, plenty of scandal, the shambles at the Labour conference, the July 7th bombings, Blair's commons defeat, there's more than enough to choose from so let us know what it is and why!

Oh gosh, let me think.
Comedy-wise, I reckon it has to be Dubya's attempt to storm out of a press conference in a display of breathtaking authoritative defiance, only to walk straight into a locked door.
Satisfaction-wise, the award for the second year in a row has to go to David Blunkett for continuing to be such an arrogant "I'm-above-the-rules" c*nt.
Breath-of-fresh-air moment has to be the change of leader at the top of the Tories. Although like many others, I do have the terrible suspicion that it's going to prove as much a false dawn for the nation as Tony Blair's emergence 11 years ago, there's no denying it's given the political scene a much-needed shot in the arm.
I nominate Blunkett's demise as the grand winner, just because he's such a loathsome little maggot.
