The Netflix-created remake of the classic UK series House of Cards is ongoing. I'd be interested to see who prefers the original version to the new one.

Ooooo, I have to admit this one belongs in the 'I-wouldn't-like-to-say' bracket, as they each have remarkable strengths that the other lacks. Even the Richardson v Spacey comparison is one that is impossible to call, they are both absolutely immense. Richardson's Urquhart is more chilling and commanding, Spacey's Underwood the more likeable and unpredictable. If you're in the mood for just pure evil, Urquhart is the way to go. If you're in the mood for something harder-to-call, go with Underwood. (Because Underwood is more likeable on a personal level, it makes it even more shocking when he kills his enemies.)
The UK version has a slightly surreal, 'pantomime' quality at points that the US version lacks, but it's hard to say whether it really needs it. There's a stiffer harshness about the US version's tone, which perhaps lends itself to greater drama, but with three (soon four) seasons of thirteen episodes, that can start to feel slightly monotonous and humourless.
I'll go with the UK one just for nostalgia's sake, but there are many times when I veer back and forth between the two versions.
