A good site so far with this good forum, despite exisiting for a couple of days it shows promise and although the main page hasn't got much it is clear and well structured, the forum is good and should grow in members. The articles are displayed in a good fashion so you know what's what. With some more content which is coming soon then this site has a great deal of promise, well done Will

Ok will, this is good so far. The forum is working, BUT:
The page itself is lacking in colour and the font is a shambles. Prehaps a nice colour scheme and some pictures might spruce it up a little. And prehaps some links to other political sites could work.
Thanks,
The Mekanik.

Thankyou for your advice and suggestions mekanik. I will take it but I need suggestions for actual colours for the colour scheme. Cheers

A dark grey background with lighter grey text perhaps? or vice versa. The new ranks are really good!

I like the articles page, but prehaps we need an archieve system. It would make it easier to locate them. I hope my idea is taken onboard.

I am glad you are pleased with this site. Let me remind everyone that it is because of them that it is steadily improving.
As soon as all the members start posting I will probably have to appoint a Moderator, because already I'm beggining to lose track of things.
Mike, that is a grand idea of an archive system. One is already on the drawing board for the articles. The forum needs one aswell, and as soon as I can get some free time I will plan one. I need a general chat thing aswell, which is simply what people want to talk about, not topic specific.

You assume correctly: one of the many things I have to do before the launch. I've only uploaded avatars from 2 addreses you sent me.

Critique, this isn't about your avatar, just try and forget all of my suggestions, for I have made a list of them:
Shambolic transports Alquieda Saddam Hussein Osama Bin Laden Law and Order Economy education Foreign Affairs Hospitals
Just make your way through them at you own speed.
P.S When will you download these new avatars?

Post by TheCritique on Mar 14, 2004 9:36:02 GMT
I AM NOT GOING TO DOWNLOAD ANY AVATARS! I have updated the list, and removed some of the crappy ones that came with the website, eg. thomas the tank engine! I've added loads more LOTR avatars.
Good list of suggestions. The economy is the one that appears to be going well, those growth figures and all that. But it threatens to be dented by over-taxation.
All other sugegstions for articles please post in the articles section, not the suggestions section. This is supposed to be suggestions for improvements to the website itself. Eg. additional avatars.

Currently 3 new articles launched, new topics started concerning the articles, new debate, some home page changes, but nothing major. The site will then be considered finished, no longer under construction, although it's development will continue indefinately. It will be ready to recieve many visitors.
The forum needs more topics, more attractions, and more development, although that will happen over time. I hope your advertising will also bring in many visitors from over the internet.
From then onwards there will need to be a steady influx of articles to keep visitors entertained. Writers will be expected to hand in articles whenever they get time to write them to contribute. And I intend the site to increase in popularity and visitor numbers.
I'm thinking of introducing 'writer profiles' to give visitors some background information on the writers, but it's only an idea currently, it's not reality.
When there are a large number of articles on the home page, an archive section will be introduced for visitors to view older articles, with the recent ones on the home page.
The aim of this, of course, is to make this site a place of debate, entertainment, discussion etc: A place where you can view articles on modern issues and discuss them, make your opinions known. Any contribution to making this site a success will be most valued and hopefully rewarded in the long term by the existance of a quality site.

How about an online RPG, pitting the members of this site against the threats of the modern world. Terrorism, war, famine, extreme weather, disease. We could each get a country and resources, and rule it. We would decide how to deal with problems like tax, employment. You could decide to build up on army or not. You could trade, and hold peace treaties. You could put your political views into practice.
